The chakras are energy centers in the body that recieve and emmante energy. The energy they transmit creates our auric field, a field of energy that extends about 3 feet beyond the body.

As we have life experiences these energy centers take in the energy of those experiences and integrate them into who we are. In this way our experience become resources and wisdom for us. However on occassion when we are challenged in our lives our chakras have trouble integrating our experience. The result then is that there is a place of limitation in our conciousness as opposed to resourcefulness.

For example let say you had something hurtful and its been years since that experience, but that hurt still effects and keeps from trying new things or engage more deeply in relationships.
